Our breeding plan at Faucheux's Finest Frenchie's is two parts. 

Our number one goal is to produce French Bulldog puppies that are healthy, free of genetic disorders

that could cause them suffering in the later stages of life. 

Our second goal is to breed dogs that are in line with what is recognized as breed standard.

We find the many coloring variants of the French Bulldog an amazing adaption of the breed. 

Just as each dog will be marked in their individuality by there personality, they will also 

be marked so by their coat colors. 

All of our dogs are generically health tested at Embark before potential pairing. We will not 

breed dogs that carry a genetic marker that could result in possible health risks later in life 

for the dogs to live with, and the owners to worry over the financial burden. Nor will we breed

dogs to one another with a matching genome of more than 15%. This ensures us that we are 

not risking inbreeding genetic complications.   

As a potential owner of one of our puppies, first and foremost you must be willing to surrender

a dog back to us that develops a health condition that you are not able or willing to treat. 

We offer a 1yr health guarantee (See Contract For Inclusions and Exclusions.) If after the one 

year your dog develops a condition you are not prepared to treat we ask that you surrender the dog back 

to us. Before surrendering them to any other organization. 

This leads us to a discussion over conditions that specifically affect brachiocephalic breeds.

 "Short Muzzled" 

There are two conditions that can present in your dog. One is Nasal Snares, this is a constriction of the

nasal passage airway. This condition is easily correctable through a surgery to remove the excess tissue in the nasal passage. The second condition is elongated soft pallet. With all flat faced dogs there is a chance that the soft pallet could pose an obstruction to the trachea. This condition can only be determined by a vet with the dog under sedation. An elongated soft pallet must be treated, left untreated the quality of life for the dog is to low, and potential for suffering a tracheal collapse are too high. 

There are many vet offices that will perform the surgery to remove both of these fairly common conditions. 

Similar to a puppy being born with a cleft pallet, There are no predisposed markers for a puppy to be born with nasal snares or elongated soft pallet. We will identify puppies having either of these conditions before they go to their forever homes. We will adjust pricing for these dogs, specifically due to the cost to the new owner to have the condition treated surgically at approximately 1yr old. 

We do not have the surgeries performed before they leave our care due to the puppies being to young. Depending on if the condition is a soft pallet or nasal snares, possibly both, will determine the quality of the OWNER that we will allow to home one of our puppies. Puppies with these conditions do require a different level of steadfast care and knowledge of the condition. They can live a happy and healthy 

life up to their surgery, they just have several special considerations when it comes to their daily care.
